Promoisola Association was born in 1997 with the purpose of developing non-profit activities characterized by social utility and benefits for partners and third parties, while fully respecting the freedom and dignity of the membership.

The goals of the association are:

Promote the enhancement and achievement of the social, cultural, touristic and athletic context of Isola Bergamasca as a civilization key value to transmit to future generations, highlighting social, cultural, touristic and athletic activities of every municipality in the area of Isola Bergamasca.

Promote the social, cultural, touristic and athletic cohesion of communities set in the surrounding areas.

Promote a coherent relationship of social, culturalm touristic and athletic cooperation both with local or foreign contexts and territories.

Promote and achieve studies and investigations aimed at the knowledge of historic, cultural, athletic and touristic values in the Isola Bergamasca context and in its development dynamics.

Promote and achieve studies and investigations aimed at the knowledge of the social request of its development dynamic and the social values expressed by the surrounding social context.

Promote and achieve initiatives aimed at the distribution and enjoyment of the heritage and the cultural treasures of the Isola Bergamasca territory, even in partnership with public authorities and voluntary associations.

Promote and achieve initiatives aimed at spreading and empowering the Civil defense system, even in partnership with public authorities and voluntary associations.

Isola Brembana or Isola Bergamasca is an area located in the province of Bergamo, on the boundary between those of Milan and Lecco, delimited by the Adda river in the West, by the Brembo in the East (these two streams meet in the Southern part of the area drawing an upside-down triangle) and bounded by the slopes of the Mount Canto Basso in the North.

The area is subdivided into 21 comunes (Ambivere, Bonate Sopra, Bonate Sotto, Bottanuco, Brembate, Brembate di Sopra, Calusco d’Adda, Capriate San Gervasio, Carvico, Chignolo d’Isola, Filago, Madone, Mapello, Medolago, Ponte San Pietro, Presezzo, Sotto il Monte Giovanni XXIII, Solza, Suisio, Terno d’Isola, Villa d’Adda) and it is characterised on the one hand by a remarkable natural and cultural heritage, and on the other hand by a significant presence of productive activities.
