The original building is now a museum, and is located in the municipality of Presezzo.
The first documentary evidence of the palace dates back to 1559.
On the ground floor the building maintains its Renaissance appearance, while the main floor is the result of placing the late eighteenth century.
Through the porch, painted with grotesque motifs and lunettes, to access various rooms decorated in the late sixteenth century by Giovani Paolo Cavagna (a painter from Bergamo) :the walls are dedicated to Hercules and smaller rooms to Susanna, Judith and Apollo.
These works are the only visible traces remaining after destruction of the frescos was carried out in the first half of 1900’s, by the last owners.
In the highest area there are the houses of the priest and the doctor, both salaried by the Crespi family.
They are asked to oversee the moral life of the citizens and to overcome injuries and illnesses that may decrease the work performance.
The two buildings, visible from all over the town, have common architectural styles – friezes on the windows, cornices, moldings, floors and cast iron columns.
Along the valley that descends to the town, both houses have large gardens which briefly lead to the nerve centers – church, school, factory.
The church of San Giovanni Battista is tied with the future of the Good Pope. In 1902, when the first foundation stone was blessed, he was there in the crowd, back when he was a simple seminarian. Following some infiltrations, however, it was soon closed and restored. At the reopening of 1929, Angelo Roncalli, who had become bishop, blessed it again. In the nearby area, you can visit the Chapel of Peace, which contains an inlay of Pope John composed of 70,000 pieces of wood.
