It is the church where the spiritual journey of Angelo Roncalli starts from. It is here where the future pope was baptized, on 25 November 1881. It now contains a symbol of the end of his earthly life: the stone that covered his tomb in the Vatican grottoes.
But the history of the building dates before the nineteenth century.
It dates back to the fifteenth century, and boasts among its decorations a “St. Anthony of Padua” attributed to Carlo Ceresa.
